Nottingham Panthers travel to Wales to face Cardiff Devils in the Elite League this afternoon (16:00 face-off).
Three points separate the two sides in the Elite League standings with second-placed Devils on 50 points and Panthers in third on 47 points but with a game in hand.
Panthers were beaten 4-3 by Dundee Stars last night in a close game at a sold-out Motorpoint Arena.
Two goals with netminder Kevin Carr lifted for the extra skater were in vain as Dundee returned to Scotland with the two points.
Cardiff's last game saw them secure a 4-3 overtime victory in Dundee on Friday night.
Josh MacDonald scored 20 seconds into the extra period as Paul Thompson's side secured the extra point.

Panthers Head Coach, Danny Stewart, said: "We have to be more clinical and cut out the errors. That's what cost us against Dundee.
"Cardiff are a strong team and will come at us hard. It's never an easy place to go but we have to be ready and switched-on."
