Match Report

Nottingham Panthers moved up to second in the Elite League table with a 6-2 victory over Fife Flyers at the Motorpoint Arena.

Didrik Henbrant returned to the line-up after missing Sunday's victory in Coventry because of illness. Kevin Carr started between the pipes with Luca Sheldon as back-up.

Panthers lead by three at first intermission
Bryan Lemos scored twice in just over three minutes as he first met a sweet feed from Nolan Volcan (04:54) and then netted his second after being set-up by a deflected pass by Henbrant (08:18).

Tim Doherty exchanged passes with Brendan Harris to make it 3-0 to the Panthers just past the 10-minute mark (10:13).

Panthers strech lead to five
Doherty and Harris combined to set-up David Noël who fired off the pipes from the top of the left-circle (21:16).

Carr made a good save to deny Jonas Emmerdahl as Fife came close to getting on the board, before Panthers piled on the pressure again with Volcan, Lemos and Henbrant being denied by Christian Purboo on the same shift.

A neat move by Chase Pearson on the doorstep on the powerplay (36:29) saw Panthers stretch the lead to five after two periods.

Panthers secure the two points
Strong work on the wall by Matt Spencer set-up Matt Marcinew (42:46) to make it 6-0, before Keaton Jameson forced the puck over the line from close-range as Fife scored on the powerplay (48:09).

Ian Scheid netted from the right-circle for Fife's second of the night (54:31), but they were just consolation goals as Panthers secured another vital two points.
